Why Marathon Fueling Matters

Only accessible after months of specific gut training; a first attempt at 90 g/hour on race day is almost guaranteed to end in GI distress.
Above 90 g/hour: Rarely useful. Gastric emptying becomes the ceiling — you can pour more in but the stomach can't move it fast enough to the small intestine for absorption.
When to Take the First Gel
