A backlink's value depends on how much authority the linking page holds and how much of it is actually passed to your site. This calculator derives an authority pool from domain authority and page authority weighted at 40% and 30% respectively: authorityPool = linkingDA × 0.4 + pageAuthority × 0.3. That pool is then multiplied by linkType (1.0 for dofollow, lower for nofollow or sponsored) and a relevanceScore (higher when the linking page's topic closely matches yours). Because a page's authority is divided among all its outbound links, the formula applies a dilution factor of 100 / outboundLinks. The complete formula is: Value = ((linkingDA × 0.4 + pageAuthority × 0.3) × linkType × relevanceScore × (100 / outboundLinks)) / 10. The division by 10 normalises the output to a convenient 0–100-ish scale. A higher value signals a link worth actively pursuing or retaining.
